What do you imagine whenever the holidays come around?  You might think about lots of snow, taking a stroll through places like New York’s holiday themed stores while wearing heavy winter gear, or making snowmen.  Depending on how long you’ve been in South Florida or if you’ve never been here, you may know that’s not quite how the holidays work down here.  The temperatures rarely dip into numbers necessitating anything more than a sweater or light jacket, and the last time it snowed here was in the late 1970s.

Over here, the majority of the holiday decorations are found over at Santa’s Enchanted Forest, a carnival full of decorations, rides and things to eat that calls itself the largest holiday theme park in the world.  Basketball fans will probably be flocking to the American Airlines Arena on Christmas Day to see the Miami Heat square off against the New Orleans Pelicans.  From the Y100 Jingle Ball to The Nutcracker performed by the Miami City Ballet and The Christmas Palace store selling holiday items galore, the holiday experience in Miami is just as festive, albeit in a unique way.
