Are you ready for Art Basel?  Perhaps Miami’s most important art-related event, Art Basel is a huge showcase of artwork by famous as well as up and coming artists looking to present their creativity to the world through various mediums.  With the ever-growing crowds and popularity, many local businesses seek to take advantage of the event.  Let’s take a look at some of the events going on during Art Basel.

There is an area in Miami’s Wynwood area known for its craft beer, cocktails and bite-sized food.  Smashed Canvas is opening exclusively for Art Basel as a pop-up in this area and will have food and drinks plus entertainment and a few surprises in store.  Located on 29th Street, the area surrounding Smashed Canvas will feature an entire block painted with a mural by over 20 Art Basel artists.

Speaking of Wynwood, the plant that was once used to manufacture RC Cola will be one of the places transformed during Art Basel as part of The Basel House & the Bushwick Collective Block Party starting noon till late Thursday, December 3rd, through Sunday, December 6, at the Mana Urban Arts Project.  Artists will be painting all over the place and the event will also feature live music and appearances by names like rapper Fat Joe plus food courtesy of local food trucks.  Best of all, admission to the event is free!
